There are events that start with a brief. And then there are events that start with a vision. Vision Code is one of them.

THE OBJECTIVES

Developed in collaboration with Professor Mario Romano, one of the most influential voices in international ophthalmology, Vision Code was conceived as a new kind of scientific platform, designed to go beyond the traditional congress model.

The objective was not simply to organize an event, but to create a forum capable of anticipating transformations shaping ophthalmology and fostering dialogue between clinical excellence, research, and technological innovation.

At the heart of the project was the ambition to bring together leading international experts to explore the future of the discipline while encouraging collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of shared scientific perspectives on some of the field’s most relevant emerging topics.

THE SOLUTION

On May 22, 2026, Milan hosted the first edition of Vision Code, an international forum that brought together some of the world’s leading Key Opinion Leaders in ophthalmology.

The experience was designed to facilitate not only scientific learning but also idea co-creation, and the development of new scientific collaborations through a highly interactive and interdisciplinary approach.

A key element of the initiative was the Scientific Consensus process developed before, during, and after the event. Through this ongoing collaborative effort, participants are working towards shared agreements in four strategic areas expected to play a significant role in the future evolution of ophthalmology:

Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Practice
Digital Ecosystem in Ophthalmology
Flow Control in Ophthalmic Surgery
Suprachoroidal Therapies

To further reinforce the innovative nature of the forum, dedicated content was created for a 360° immersive room, transforming scientific learning into an engaging and memorable experience and providing participants with a new way to interact with complex topics and future-oriented scenarios.

From market analysis and brand development to meeting design and immersive content production, every stage of the project was developed with the objective of transforming a vision into a meaningful experience capable of generating value, connections, and innovation.

THE RESULTS

Vision Code successfully established a distinctive format built around the topics that are redefining the future of ophthalmology.

Beyond the event itself, the Scientific Consensus process is creating the foundations for long-term scientific collaboration. The agreements developed through the initiative will support the creation of a Cost Action, dedicated Working Groups, and international networking activities aimed at fostering future research projects and scientific development.

The project demonstrated how a carefully designed platform can bring together expertise, innovation, and collaboration, generating opportunities that extend well beyond a single meeting.

By combining scientific dialogue, immersive experiences, and a structured consensus-building process, Vision Code has laid the groundwork for an international community committed to advancing ophthalmology through shared knowledge and future-oriented research initiatives.

The result is a project that shows how innovation lies not only in the content itself, but also in the way that content is designed, shared, and transformed into lasting opportunities for collaboration and scientific progress.
