Enzo Buongiorno, the pioneer

The company AISC is founded in Rome by Enzo Buongiorno, the pioneer of the conference sector in Italy. The firm quickly becomes the preferred partner for scientific associations and pharmaceutical companies.

1972

State of the art technology from the outset

Technology is used to spread the message: a conference is heldsimultaneously in 6 cities, which are connected via satellite with tenNobel Prize winners at the UN Headquarters in New York.

1973

Meeting quality: IAPCO members

The company becomes one of the first members of IAPCO, the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers, the most respected PCO association.

1990

An acquisition - New markets, new business

AISC acquires MGR - another major events organiser based in Milan – and the business expands to new areas including incentive travel, conventions and medical education.

1996

A new name for a European vocation

The company takes on its current name, AIM Group International, and sets out its European expansion strategy.

1997

Units to match the clients’ needs

A dedicated business unit is established to providefull service to an American pharma multinational: the approach used becomes a successful business model, and is still in place to other long-term relationship clients.

1998

Continuing Medical Education, association management and Core PCO

AIM Group anticipates the introduction of CME through the European accreditation system. Our service expands to a full range including Association Management and Core PCO contracts.

2000

Growth, development & new structure

This is a period of both growth and evolution for AIM, with significant changes in management structure in response to the increased volume of business.

2006

A new office in Paris

AIM Group continues to expand its presence with a new office opened in the French capital.

2008

A new office in Madrid

Due to the importance of the Spanish market also as destination for major international congresses, AIM Group opens a new office in Madrid.

2009

New acquisition in Europe (AIMS)

AIM Group gains a significant international presence, through the purchase of AIMS, acquiring new offices in Brussels, Budapest, Lisbon, Prague, Sofia and Vienna. The group expands its business to include destination management company (DMC) service.

2010

AIM Celebrated its 50th Birthday

2013

Entering the United States

AIM Group opens an office in Manhattan, New York, and further develops the business two years later with the acquisition of The Herlitz Company, historic U.S. medical meeting organizer.

2014

A new phase in communication strategy

AIM acquires a significant share of the communications company vanGoGh, which specialises in innovation and digital technology. The group can now offer clients an even wider range of services: communication strategy, websites, mobile sites, app development, offline communication and brand identity communication.

2015

The Affiliate Partner Network

AIM Group establishes a new Affiliate Partnership deal with the German specialised company live2communication and with new offices in Hamburg and Munich

2016

The Affiliate Partner Network grows

The network of Affiliate Partners grow thanks to a deal with QT/ Event Studio and a new office in Berlin.

2018

A new office in Barcelona

While celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Madrid office, AIM Group strengthens its presence in the important Spanish market with a new office in the vibrant destination of Barcelona.
